The most explosive film of the year will set clocks around the globe ticking in no time as The Darkest Hour hits theaters on December 25, 2011. And despite the fact that the trailers and TV spots have been appearing a little late, much of the film’s plot is just like a mystery to the general public. Yes, of course, that’s a very nice thing. Films usually spoil too soon these days maybe because of information-heavy trailers or candid set photos. Fortunately, The Darkest Hour is an alien invasion film which is directed by Chris Gorak which is set in modern-day Russia, has been spared this queer invasion of movie privacy. But still, if you’re interested in knowing a bit further into the film, or other press materials have let on, we’ve decided to give you a peek on the synopsis.
The Darkest Hour is just like a fish-out-of-water adventure pertaining to an alien invasion. A couple of entrepreneurs, Sean (Emile Hirsch) and Ben (Max Minghella) travel to Moscow, Russia to meet with a Skyler, who is a morally ambiguous German business man they need to deal with regarding their latest business venture. Along the way, they are going to meet up with two American renegades (Rachael Taylor and Olivia Thrilby) for some hot night out in town complete with open bars and cheers.
And with the blink of an eye, the aliens come. But come to think of it, well not be dealing with aliens with bug eyes and purple blood, you have seen Hollywood mashed over movies every now and then. The aliens we’ll have here are hard to track, hard to detect, and more importantly, hard to impossible to eradicate. I mean, they thrive on electricity, and they just go around poking people dead and no one sees them. Crappy? Well, you should see the whole movie for yourself, and go check out The Darkest Hour 2011 on its airing date.
