Grimm Lead Actor Talks About Taking Chances and Nick Burkhardt

Grimm leading man David Giuntoli was behind the wheel the moment he found out    he got the lead role for the horrendously famous television series.  After hearing  this, he then pulled over to just savor the moment of victory and let the news sink  in. And as you sit there and watch, wait till you see the next episode, and that would  be Grimm Season 1 Episode 4: The Three Bad Wolves.

“To get the lead role on a show that you really, really believe in is unbelievable,”  Giuntoli told the Herald. “It felt like my life changed and everything I worked so  hard for finally paid off.”

In the television series, Giuntoli, who has also appeared on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, and Hot in Cleveland plays the role of Nick Burkhardt, who is a homicide detective who finds out that he comes from a long line of criminal profilers only known as the Grimms. Nick, for his part, has the ability to see what others can’t – that all of the characters of the Grimm fairy tales are real.

“My character Nick very barely comes to terms with this new responsibility,” he said.

And just because the television series is set in the present day, the 31-year old actor takes his own sweet time to disappear into the character.

“When Nick is seeing a wicked witch for the first time, it would be like if I were seeing the wicked witch for the first time because the laws of the land are the same,” he said. “So it’s not like I had to study a whole other world.” Wonderfully said, so don’t miss the next episode of the show, that would be Grimm Season 1 Episode 4: The Three Bad Wolves

“I didn’t even know what was going on. They said, ‘Hey, would you be interested in going to the South Pacific for three months?’ I interviewed and, boom, got it,” he said. “There were some crazy things going on in my show. I was very forgettable. I was just the boring romantic.”

Later that year, he went on to film “The Real World/Road Rules Challenge.” He walked away from those shows confident that he could pursue an acting career. Reality shows, however, are firmly in his past.

“It’s something that’s real-ly important to put away in order to start the rest of your life, and the rest of my life is going to be acting and that is not acting,” he said.
